Amir Kapoor is a successful Pakistani-American lawyer who is rapidly moving up the corporate ladder while distancing himself from his cultural roots; he finds Islam to be a barbaric religion. His wife Emily, on the other hand, finds herself more and more attracted to the Islamic artistic tradition. Their disagreements slowly eat away at the foundation of their marriage as they must reckon with their very different positions in life.  When the couple hosts a dinner party, philosophical disagreements mix with personal animosity until the situation explodes.
